Need to rent a car in Germany for business trip - Langknecht - 04-12-2026

So I've got a situation brewing with our German branch that I need to handle personally. Been putting out fires over email and Zoom calls for weeks now, but some things you just can't fix remotely. I'm flying to Germany next month to spend about a week there sorting through contracts, meeting with local suppliers, and checking in on the warehouse operations in different cities. I need my own wheels to get between meetings efficiently. Anyone know where I can book a decent rental car in advance so I'm not scrambling when I land?

Man, flying out to fix other people's screwups is the worst part of being in charge. You're dealing with problems that could've been avoided if someone had just acted three weeks ago. For the car situation, don't go with the big name companies, they'll absolutely destroy you on pricing for a full week rental with all the mileage you'll be doing.

Yep, those major chains see a week-long booking and immediately start adding every fee imaginable. Daily rates, insurance, extra driver charges, it never stops. You can look at what private owners and smaller car rental companies in Germany have available here: https://getrentacar.com/en-US/germany . Local providers have way better pricing and actual variety in vehicles. Book now and you're set when you arrive instead of paying whatever inflated rate the big companies demand.
